Randi was born in Shanghai and grew up in Taiwan. While living in Hong Kong, she spent over 10 years studying painting with Professor Chao Shao-ang, grand master of the Lingnan School for Art.

Randi was drawn to the Lingnan School by its innovative idea of taking Chinese brush painting techniques and merging them with the finest points of Western art. Thus you see the masterful strokes of the brush, harmony of composition, delicate inking and coloring combined with the exquisite aspects of Chinese style of painting.

Randi and her family have lived full-time on Bainbridge Island since 1997 and were summer residents for many years before.
